“May your stuffing be tasty.

May your turkey be plump.

May your potatoes and gravy,

Have not a lump.

May your yams be delicious,

And your pies take the prize.

May your Thanksgiving dinner

Stay off your thighs!

There are not many things better than a Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixins’ – especially if it’s followed up with a welcomed snooze. There is something about Thanksgiving food that makes it incredibly nostalgic and comforting, which is why so many of us may take a few too many extra helpings at the dinner table.

Although we want you to enjoy your families and the food over the holidays, we want to encourage you all to find ways to Eat Different so that a couple of meals won’t wreck weeks of work towards your fitness goals. What we have found time and time again is that small choices made repeatedly lead up to big outcomes.

This Thanksgiving if you know you will be eating a big Thanksgiving lunch or dinner, eat light the rest of the day and swap out another meal for a Super Fit Shake of your choice. With only 100 calories, 0 grams of sugar, and 27 grams of protein, a Super Fit Shake will fill you up without puffing you out.  If good choices are made earlier in the day before that big Thanksgiving meal, it helps to balance the indulgence later.

Another thing to think about is the ability to make recipes healthier by swapping out ingredients. A few weeks back, we made a specific blog post covering a few healthy recipes that can be made with our protein mix containers. If many of you do potluck-styled Thanksgiving dinners, take the first step in encouraging the rest of your family to Eat Different with you by the dishes you bring and the ingredients they are made from.

Some of our favorite swaps include mixing in a scoop of vanilla from our Super Fit Vanilla container to your banana pudding as you are making the pudding. For extra protein and flavor in your brownies, try adding a scoop of chocolate from our Super Fit Dutch Chocolate container to your brownies. My spouse DOES NOT eat healthy by choice, so I have to make an effort to swap out unhealthy ingredients for healthier recipes every day and even he cannot tell the difference in taste with these options.

While we hope each of you make the choice to Eat Different this Thanksgiving, we are reminded daily that the gift of plenty and eating generously - like so many of us do day in and day out without giving it a second thought - is a privilege denied to many. We have so very much to be thankful for!

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart. I will tell of your wonderful deeds!”

– Psalm 9:1

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving from our Super Shakes family to yours!
